The Scars of Sexual Abuse

Sexual abuse leaves a scar on your soul. Not a normal scar. It is a scar with every single nerve exposed and tender. It opens a person up to a lifetime of cascading trauma, where seemingly innocuous offences hurt so much, the pain sends you once again back into that dark place you desperately try to escape. It destroys relationships and self-confidence so thoroughly, it is often impossible to come back.

Why Mangashima?

Mangashima is Japanese for Cartoon Island. I first registered this domain about 17 years ago for my son, who was intensely interested in sketching Manga or Anime style characters. He played with it for a few weeks, but lost interest quickly and ignored it for a couple years before I finally let the registration expire.

There is a story there, which I will get to in due time, but for now I am not exactly sure where things will go - I suspect there might be a lot of stream-of-consciousness postings.
